New Game: The Island

A werewolf/murder-mystery style game of survivors stranded on an island.
The Island
My primary intent is to test it on Antifinity Games (my new forum) but in theory it should be playable anywhere you could play werewolf/mafia.

New Mastery

New Mastery is finally good enough to reveal! It's an extremely combat oriented rpg, with few-to-no mechanics for handling non-combat situations, but since it's exclusively for telling the stories of martial artists, I feel that's a fine trade. Enjoy!

Government

Came up with an idea for a neat new game. It's a quick decision-making game to be played with 4 players and a judge. Many of the mechanics in the game are inspired by game theory problems.

News

Two new things.
1) For those not participating, the Just War Alpha is going great, coming up on the 7th week now, with 2 of the Candidates eliminated. I've already got plans for a streamlined sequel, so check that out linked from the "Updates" page, and sign up below if you want me to let you know when it's ready.
2) My Sin, a new RPG in a style mixing Don't Rest Your Head, Persona, and sprinkles from a few other sources. It's a game about Friendship, Sin, and Acceptance.
Here is the doc in progress: My Sin

Just War

This new (mostly complete) rpg has all the PCs competing in a tournament. The game is meant to be self explanatory, so anything you don't understand just ask about in the comments.

Dirt

Dirt is my latest attempt at a narrative RPG. The players are dirty cops in a city of corruption. The setting is currently up in the air, favoring an ambiguous modern city. Rolls are on a d6, and slightly favor the player. The primary themes will be corruption, hard choices, and disaster.

P2 reboot

I'm recreating P2 as a simpler game with the "Paranoia" material stripped out. It'll still be dystopian and awesome, but not bound to the Paranoia timeline or mechanics.

Codename Game Videogame

I've discovered I'm actually terrible at creating puzzle games, which rather puts a damper on this idea. If anyone is good at that let me know, since this is probably my favorite game to write for. Also, if anyone is down to resume/restart the TG, let me know, I need to test some revised games that would work better for a computer game adaption.

New Gambling Game

Take one suit of cards, 2-A and shuffle them.
Each player, starting with the dealer must ante and each ante must meet or exceed the previous ante.
The dealer deals 1 card to each player, and that player may then look at it.
Starting again with the dealer, each player may either match the pot, or fold.
When all players have matched the pot or folded, those who matched reveal their cards.
2: Wins if an Ace is showing, otherwise loses.
A: Wins unless a 2 is showing.
3-K: Standard progression.
Winner take all.

Let me know if you try it, or see any flaws from reading it, or if anything is unclear.

Masters

I'm revising Mastery. Instead of being a story about an individual martial artist, you now play as the master of a school of martial artists. Isn't that still an individual martial artist? Well, no. You play as the ghost of the dead master, the students have decided to hide your death and carry on your will. The game has some similarities to board games and simulation games, but is an rpg at the core.
Doc for Masters: Masters
If you were strongly interested in any aspect of Mastery that isn't being carried forward, let me know. I can probably apply it forward, or potentially even finish Mastery as a separate game in the same universe if interest exists.

Green Victoria

Information Doc
Green Victoria is my latest RPG project, and it is currently playable and has completed test runs.
The game does not yet have a virtual version, and can only be played in person, but all the background information will be posted on the doc, and eventually all the mechanical information as time permits.

[Add a summary of the game here]

Mastery

Martial Arts Narrative Role Playing Game
In Mastery, you play through the life of a martial artist in a wuxia-inspired world, developing your martial art, championing your school, defending your values, and resisting your vices. The game begins at the age of 13, as you are inducted into a martial arts school, and ends when your character dies. Years pass at a rapid pace, but the actual gameplay occurs on a normal time scale, as you play out important interactions, choices, and battles. All players are members of the same martial arts school, and thus must choose a few related disciplines, beyond that they may explore any combination of elements, skills, and equipment, becoming more diverse and powerful as they progress. As a narrative game, there is also a Fate system, allowing the players to have some control over the intervention of luck, the cost however, is that your Fate dice are handed over to the Narrator when used, to return to you as bad luck befalls your character. Without further ado, here are the rules;
Mastery
As of right now, the rules are incomplete but playable (if they are 100% complete and I haven't deleted this, someone remind me)

Bidwar Blackjack

A new game, somewhat like a merger between Poker and Blackjack.
Order of Play:
Each of the players draws one card from the deck and places it face up in front of themselves.
Each player draws one card, looks at it, and then places it face down next to the first.
Each player places a secret bet within the minimum and maximum.
Bets are revealed, then any "Bid Wars" are resolved, starting from the lowest tied bets.
All players with the tied bet must place and then reveal a new secret bid which is added to the original to reach their new total bet.
Once all Bid Wars have been resolved (all players have different bets) the player with the lowest bet then plays the game. The player may hit or stand, and once the player hits or stands they reveal all their cards.
Each remaining player does the same, in order of lowest bet to highest.
Once all players have decided to "Stand" or have "Busted" the pot is divided equally among all players who scored the highest number under 22.
To Decide:
Minimum: This is the lowest allowed bet.
Maximum: The highest allowed bet (the total bet may exceed this, due to Bid Wars)
Increment: The lowest unit that can be used in a bet (for example, dollars, 10 cents, poker chips)
Special Cases:
At any time a player would bid, they may bid one increment less than the minimum. This causes them to 'fold', and their hand is treated as if they had busted. Any opponents in a Bid War must still pay their bids in full.

Future Features:
Splitting? Insurance?

If you give it a try, or have any questions, let me know in the comments!

Nuke Nations

A game of nuclear warfare. Highly untested, but definitely has potential.
Nuke Nations
Currently requires a GM (The UN) to administer, but could potentially be converted to a computer game or board game, perhaps a chat bot. If anyone knows how to program chat bots, let me know.

Oh, and I never got any feedback. Do you guys want me to create a tool set for you to create your own settings/mods/scenarios? It wouldn't be hard, but I won't bother if no one is going to use it.

Mastery and Active Projects update

I've updated the active projects page to include projects I'm currently working on, including the announcement of my newest talk game, Mastery.
Mastery is a game of martial arts, set in a modern city known as Valhalla. This sprawling metropolis is controlled by the numerous constantly changing schools of martial artists, who's wuxia-inspired martial arts make them too dangerous for the government to regulate.

Peace at Last recruitment

Art: If you're willing to do any art, let me know and I'll give you something to do. The game has no art.
Writing: Writing needed for events, combat, pretty much everything. The mythology and science is already written out, but you can do writing for histories of randomly generated planets (events) and you can do pseudo-science for researchable technologies (within the established rule).
Play-Testing: Feel free to sign up in the comments, but it'll be a while before a playable version is available.
Coding: Most of the coding involves converting my design documents into simple code (if-then, loops), in C++. This means you'll be exposed to all spoilers for everything you work on.
Game Design: If you've got a strong interest in game design, I can open up the design documents and you can go over the concepts with me. This will be 100% spoilers and isn't really necessary, but might help me avoid some major blunders if I've made them.
Doc Management: This game has far too many docs. If someone wants to go over all of them and fix the inconsistent parts, that'd be awesome. Of course, this means exposure to all of the spoilers, so I understand if no one wants to do it. Also, if someone wants to write up the strategy guide and so on, that'd save me a lot of time.
